Photos of the Record Heavy Rainfall Weekend in the New York City Metro Area
These photos were taken in central New Jersey on August 13-15, 2011. The marshland photo was taken in Manasquan on Saturday evening August 13, 2011 just before more than 6 inches of rain fell. More than 8 inches fell in Staten Island with nearly 11 inches in Lido Beach, Long Island. Central Park received just under 6 inches.

Thunderstorms with Sleet in Midtown Manhattan, March 23, 2011
These photos were taken during a heavy fall of pea sized sleet. It looked as if the sleet was mixed with hail. The streets and sidewalks in Midtown became covered quickly. The lightning was accompanied by loud thunder. The thunderstorms were present from approximately 7:35 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again from approximately 8:15 p.m. through 8:45 p.m. The temperature during the past hour in Midtown was 32 to 33 degrees.
